Emma's 1st Day of School

The day finally came for our baby girl to start kindergarten!! :(
Seems like it was just yesterday we were bring her home from the hospital!
In our school district the cutoff date for kindergarten is September 1st. Well...Emma misses that date by 11 days. But in our district you can take your child and have them tested for early entrance as long as their birthday is before October 31st. So we took her and she passed!!! YAY EMMA!!!! Here's what will be our tradition is a picture of her standing in front of the front door on the first day. She looks so grown up!
Taking a minute to pose with Daddy before we head out the door for the first day.
Coloring at her seat the Kissing Hand picture.
Cheese! She was a little annoyed that Jay and I were there for her first day. She even asked "Are you and Daddy going to be at school with me every day?"
In the entrance of the school they have a Birthday Bulletin board where they put ALL the kid's names who have birthdays that month. This is Emma pointing to her name. She was so excited to see her name up there. They even announce their name over the morning announcements on their birthday!
2nd day of school and ready to ride the bus. I/we thought she would be hesitant to ride but it was not a problem at all. She is already riding the bus too AND from school everyday.
Her new "big girl" shoes....since they do not have velcro. We are working on learning to tie them and need to really master that before winter settles in and she has to wear boots to school and change into her tennis shoes.
Waiting at the bus stop with Daddy.
