GREAT NEWS first....my best friend Bre had her baby girl on the 5th of March (5lbs. 15oz. 18.5 inches)...YAY!!! Welcome to the world Annabelle!!!!!
So.......this has been a very trying week. My friend Carolynn always says to tell God your plans...then listen to him laugh because he has much more in store for you! Never has that been more true than this past week.
Emma and I made a trip to St. Louis to see my old college roommate, Kara and her family on Friday. She has a little girl about the same age as Emma and also a precious handsome little man that has just joined the world a month ago. Emma LOVED playing with baby Jackson and constantly told me "I want one of these at my house" but she did add "but I want a sister....not a brother." I love listening to her little voice and the stories she comes up with...so innocent. Speaking of innocence..... Kara told me a story of when Sophia saw her little brother's boy parts for the first time and asked "Why does he have a tongue on his bottom??" Absolutely precious and oh so innocent! We took Emma and Sophia to Club Libby Lu on Saturday and they had a great time...if only I had thought of the LIbby Lu concept.....goldmine! It is a great dress-up store where the girls got their hair done like a princess...got to put a fairy princess costume on and some glittle all over them....you can never have too much glitter right???!!
Well while we were there and Emma is having the time of her life playing with Sophia and all her great toys, Mom calls to say she had to take Dad to the ER because he was having chest pains and they admitted him. The weather was absolutely horrendous so we were not able to come back to Ohio until Monday morning. Luckily my brother and his wife, Korina, were able to get into town on Saturday and be with Mom.
To make a very long story very short....Dad had 2 blockages...one was 100% blocked and the other was 80% blocked. He had double bypass surgery on Tuesday morning and will be in the hospital in the CVICU until he comes home. Hopefully that will be either Monday or Tuesday of this coming week. Emma has really missed playing with her Granddaddy and reading stories with him. Although the playing and using Granddaddy as a jungle gym will have to wait a while. I am sure she will be thrilled to read stories together again.
With Dad's surgery he will not be able to travel to go to Jay's graduation on the 1st of April. But I would rather have him around for the next 30 years than around just for graduation. Dad is kind of bummed but realizes it is for the best.
Emma and I only have 2 1/2 more weeks here in Ohio and can hardly wait for our little family to be back together again!! We are getting anxious for the move and the long over due reunion with all of our stuff that has been in storage for over a year now. Especially the reunion with my shoes!! A girl can only survive for so long with only 4 pairs of shoes!! Seriously.
So be sure to remember to tell God your plans before you finalize everything.....He may have something totally different in mind for you! :) And boy does He have a uncanny sense of humor too! :)
WOW!! This post was as long as one of Carolynn's posts! LOL
OH...pics from club Libby Lu to come as soon as Kara sends them to me! :)
